BREAKING: Starbucks workers have launched a massive, nationwide strike.

Baristas in 40 cities have walked off the job on the busiest day of Starbucks' year.

Upwards of 12,000 @sbworkersunited.org members could ultimately go on strike as the union escalates.

Finally watched Black Phone 2. I loved the Super 8 dream sequences and the discordant score. That ice skating scene was incredible and it reminded me of a similar scene in Curtains

Some of the dialogue was cheesy, but given that it's based on a coming-of-age story by Joe Hill, the cheesiness works

Our trip to New Orleans included an unexpected boat ride out into the bayou and Gulf for fresh oysters from the sea. We got a tour of the entire oyster farming process and as many free samples of the delicious creatures as we wanted. Definitely beats getting drunk on Bourbon St. any day!

Welcome to Target

Ah yes, it was the lack of smiling that made us boycott Target
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

Upcoming Paramount films to skip:

- The Running Man (Nov 14)
- The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants (Dec 19)
- Primate (Jan 9)
Under new head of Paramount David Ellison, the studio has drawn up a list of actors who opposed the Gaza genocide and will not allow them to appear in its films and TV shows.

Does this sound familiar?

Also, "Ellison is reportedly aiming to take over Warner Bros. next."
Paramount Has Blacklist for Stars Deemed “Overtly Antisemitic” — World of Reel
It sure looks like the likes of Javier Bardem, Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, and Mark Ruffalo won’t be making movies for Paramount in the foreseeable future.

I'm glad Stephen Cognetti is trying new things in the Hell House LLC franchise, like moving away from found footage. Lineage wasn't my favorite, but I admire the commitment to continuity and world-building. I'll keep watching anything that man releases to the world

Zohran Mamdani polled +40% on men under 30. So we wasted all that time on all those think pieces about how we need a Joe Rogan for the left, when what we actually needed were *policies* for the left.

NEW: Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky has conceded. A stunning defeat for a MAGA media fixture who built a national profile on claims of a "complete gang takeover" of Aurora that led President Trump to visit and falsely proclaim the city "conquered" by an immigrant gang

Here in Aurora, CO, council member Danielle Jurinsky thrust herself into the spotlight as the national poster child for anti-Venezuelan fear mongering. Yesterday, Aurora voted her out of office. Racism and bigotry doesn't always pay off. Please let the door hit your ass on the way out, Danielle 👋🏽
