Under the thick crust of sleet, it's dry, powdery snow.

Getting any sort of tire traction is nearly impossible until that crust breaks. So, stay home if you can.

A yard stick, strapped the to wildlife camera pole, in the most open, flat area of our property. Covered up to just below the 5" mark. Just after I scattered the remainder of the shelled peanuts and corn for the Murder of Crows watching me from the trees. They came back as soon as I was inside.😆 Wildlife tracks criss crossing the snow, bare trees and rambles in the distance Wildlife tracks crossing the snow. Deer mainly Neighbor vehicles, bare trees, brambles and a compost bin in the distance

At least one Grey Fox made an appearance early this morning. Steve showed up and investigated the areas the preceeding deer and fox dug up.

The Murder is so puffed up, they look more like Northern Ravens.

I don't know how much of the seeds, nuts, etc left out there Sat evening, dug out and eaten by the Ladies, the bucks and Not Steve, was left, honestly.

So, we have a winter storm coming in this weekend, right?

We are right on the line between 3-6" and 6-12" of snow. Because of course we are.

Then we're looking at 1-3" of sleet on Sunday.

Yeah. Fun times.

Leviathan came out overnight, rearranged some fake plants and went back into hiding.

Fill view of 60 gal fish tank One of the fake plants that has been 'uprooted' and moved. The fake claw foot by the skull is now upright as well. Other side of tank, rocks have been shifted a bit, castle opening is raised now. This was taken as Leviathan was squirming further up into the castle, so you can just see the end of his tail on the front right edge of the opening to the castle. The slate tile is so the aquarium gravel doesn't pile up and make it so he can't get in the castle, a hold over from the Koi who liked to bury the opening. Pretty sure he chased them around until they gave up and died to get away from him because of it. That took about 4 years. He really likes being an only fish. 😆

Leviathan, a 24yr old High Fin Pleco, in a 60gal fishtank, right outside his castle. Yes, 24 years old. He's about 12-14" long now. Got him when he was around 2" in size, in 2002.

Graupel on bare dirt, a small rock at center. Graupel is a snow flake that collects freezing water drops as it falls, aka riming, creating a crunchy, tiny snowball. Basically.
