the passing of Linda Lavin (TV's Alice) on the heels of Carter's loss puts me in Gen X reflective mode where I remember the transition between the 70s and 80s, where in 70s media the working class were aspirational while coming off as grounded. The 80s celebrated rich assholes. Discuss or don't
