POTATOMap is officially out today! (Even tho it says 2024Dec30… yeah long story😂)

Thank you to all the authors and everyone involved! I hope we have provided something useful and maybe leave a little (just a little) impact in your research.
Spatiotemporal proteomics reveals the biosynthetic lysosomal membrane protein interactome in neurons - Nature Communications
It is unclear how new lysosomal proteins are properly delivered in polarized neurons. Here, the authors developed a method combining the synchronization of protein release from the endoplasmic reticul...

Great to see our work published! I'm glad I was able to contribute during my time in Montréal.

Excitatory synapses onto Basket cells show anti-Hebbian plasticity following supralinear calcium signalling.
As a rule, cells that fire together wire together, but some synapses disobey this rule, notably hippocampal basket cells, BCs, have anti-Hebbian plasticity. We wondered if this was true in neocortex as well, and it turns out it is, suggesting a general principle! 🧪

I am delighted to highlight our recent publication in The Innovation — @theinnovation.bsky.social — titled “Principles of visual cortex excitatory microcircuit organization”, where we showcase optomapping, ie 2p optogenetic circuit mapping! www.cell.com/the-innovati...
Principles of visual cortex excitatory microcircuit organization
Synapse-specific connectivity and dynamics determine microcircuit function but are challenging to explore with classic paired recordings due to their low throughput. We therefore implemented optomapping, a ∼100-fold faster two-photon optogenetic method. In mouse primary visual cortex (V1), we optomapped 30,454 candidate inputs to reveal 1,790 excitatory inputs to pyramidal, basket, and Martinotti cells. Across these cell types, log-normal distribution of synaptic efficacies emerged as a principle.

Thrilled to see this paper out!! 🧪

Spatial transcriptomics of brain aging and 'spatial aging clocks' identify cells that have pro-aging or pro-rejuvenating effects on their neighbors!

Huge CONGRATS to Eric Sun and all authors! Fantastic collaboration with @jameszou.bsky.social!

Hey there! Just moved away from the former bird app. And I'm excited to announce that I recently started a postdoc at Radboud University with Anne-Sophie Hafner! We will use proteomics and spatial transcriptomics to investigate episodic memory during development
