Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

She's explicitly using Potter bux to fund her war on trans people. If you truly can not quit the wizarding world at the very least pirate it
This is a cartoonish representation of oligarchic domination: a chauvinist billionaire donned in gold jewellery and smoking a cigar, celebrating a supreme court ruling that (by her own side's account) wouldn't have gone through without her extensive financial and political investments

Does anyone know of any other examples of where a video synchs perfectly to other audio, like the This Is America video clip set to Call Me Maybe?

Happened across a hummingbird nest in Prospect Park today. First one I've ever seen! These floofs almost don't fit anymore.

I got my first open gangway car!

First impressions:
- quieter than I thought it would be
- because they show where the exit stairs are at the next station, you can just walk to the right place on the train... because there are no doors between the cars! Surprised how much I like this

I haven't really known what I felt about flaco because I hadn't wanted to engage in how sad I was about him. Thanks Ryan, for helping me think through it.
i didn't feel comfortable sharing this on twitter where the flaco discourse can get very heated but i am pretty happy with this take so i'd like to share it somewhere 🦉🪶🧪

I recently made a comic complaining that NASA refuses to listen to my good ideas for improving the Solar System (xkcd.com/2750).

To my delight, NASA’s Science Mission Directorate has sent me an actual expert panel evaluation of my “flatten the planets” proposal! Sadly, they decided not to fund it.

I went to Shawangunk Grasslands NWR yesterday at sunset and saw the most incredible display of flying I've ever seen. These short-eared owls were everywhere at once, and perfectly silent.

My dear friend published this! It's wonderful, and the opening is, shall we say, arresting.
My short story, “Bobbin Doffing,” is in the latest issue of the Adroit Journal!

Many thanks to everyone at Adroit — I’m thrilled this weirdo queer Dear America love story found such a wonderful home.
