Even if it doesn't help with this exact thing it's gotta be better for our mental health in general at least. I have a cheap little handheld emulator that I've been playing anytime I've felt the urge to look at my phone and that's helped keep me off of it a lot.

I feel I've been like this for the past decade. Even with more recreational stuff that I know I enjoy it can be hard for me to just start doing those things now.

I've been playing Veilguard on Underdog difficulty and it's generally been an enjoyable experience. I was even having fun fighting an optional boss that was 13 levels above me.
But holy shit fuck that stupid ass blight dragon fight it was so frustratingly not fun. Aside from parrying the fireballs.
