My life philosophy is that life is suffering, so I've got no choice but to be happy spread cheer. Pretty close to what Fitzgerald maintains.
Not sure if that's intelligence or stubbornness though.

"Okay." says my doctor just before my chemo port insertion, "I'm going to just uncover this breast so I can see where the port will go."
She does her thing, finds a spot, prepares it, and admires her work. "Beautiful."
"Thanks!" I say. "The other one's not so bad either."

I have the odd problem of being entirely too positive while having stage IV cancer.
Sometimes I really need to stop the jokes and the need to feel fortunate because the absolute *best* case scenario is an exhausting year of chemo and surgeries. That really sucks.

I have the odd problem of being entirely too positive while having stage IV cancer.
