Earlier today when I went to do some errands, I saw two large ravens circling above the road in a most spectacularly dramatic and ominous looking way.

Update: I have reached civilisation after a ski trek across the lake.
(Unfortunately the Ellivuori ski track was out of commission due to too little snow. Oh well. I made my own on the lake. It’s bigger and more fun that theirs.)

Without thinking about it much, I baked bread using 100% barley flour instead of the usual rye.
It now struck me this is probably the most authentic 2000BC Mesopotamia food I have ever eaten. It’s 100% whole grain barley, leavened with only sourdough starter.
King Ur-Nammu would approve 😤

I had about an hour to spend in Tampere, so I went to the library and asked for Pelit-magazines from 1999. Apart from the nostalgia trip, it’s kind of fascinating to revisit the rude rebel bad boy vibe that the magazine had!

The attention economy has a reverse psychology effect on me. The more something looks like it’s trying to grab my attention, the more it becomes visual noise that I automatically ignore. That means, in a social media feed, a block of plain text is most likely to catch my attention! :D

Well this is pretty neat! A conference is being advertised in the Karelian language. This must be the first time I come across a real, organic text in Karelian, and not just random example phrases.

Winter running season officialy started today, which my frosty beard can attest for!
It’s kind fun to run in the winter/cold, because it gives it more of a resource management aspect. You can’t breathe too heavily in the cold, so you have to mange your pace more carefully
