So did Gov and Ofwat want to avoid being cross-examined by barristers in the Thames Water bailout case?

It's not so easy to bluff and be economical with the facts through a proper court hearing.

Sewage effluent generally flows 24/7 but when some of the 12 TIMES A YEAR testers showed up there was nothing to test!

Anglian Water claims that happened on average 600 times a year since 2015.

Rivers have Rights @windrushwasp.bsky.social
The Paris mayor, Anne Hidalgo, has organised a fake trial to establish whether the river Seine could have legal rights. The Jury decided it should.
Now citizens' assemblies will be held monthly until June 25 “to bring to the legislature the draft law that could recognise the rights of the Seine”.
Une rivière peut-elle faire valoir ses droits au même titre qu’une personne morale ou physique ?

C'est la question qui s'est posée lundi soir, dans une audience fictive et théâtralisée au théâtre de la Concorde à Paris.

The Stealth bailout.
As big bill hikes loom to fix the problems caused by water companies whose failures are now being used to blackmail even more money out of billpayers, we take a look at what is going on behind the scenes. Shockingly, our new government appears to be fearful of upsetting the big financial interests at the heart of the water industry scandal. Not from the untreated outfall, this was the actual brook including dilution from the treated effluent and the stream - so much for storm sewage being relatively harmless contaminated rainwater.
