Waymo's self driving cars are significantly safer than human driven, by 70% or more! With that kind of increased safety, will humans even be allowed to drive in the future (other than recreationally)?

In June of 1999, Spielberg invited about 15 experts to a three-day think tank to brainstorm what the future might look like for The Minority Report.
It is so hard to predict the future! For instance, the story (by PKD) had 3 almost magical "precogs." In reality, we will actually have predictive AI.

Wishing any dads out there a happy Father's Day. My dad is in his mid eighties now and is getting very introspective/retrospective (there's probably a German word for that). I always remind him that my love of reading science fiction came from him, and he agrees, that's great success. 🤓

This was just posted by @tbretc.bsky.social on another platform. The Chicago Sun-Times obviously gets ChatGPT to write a ‘summer reads’ feature almost entirely made up of real authors but completely fake books. What are we coming to?

This fun sci-fi film is being released in AMC theaters in the US on May 9th. Originally in Swedish, it has been translated to English using the real actors' voices, using AI to make their mouths move correctly.
This is groundbreaking, ethical, and highly recommended.
