Moulton: "When we had briefings on Venezuela, we asked, 'Are you going to invade the country?' We were told no. 'Do you plan to put troops on the ground?' We were told no. 'Do you intend regime change in VZ?' We were told no. So in a sense, we have been briefed, we've just been completely lied to"

And Panama. They’re doing the Noriega playbook.
I am struggling with what might be a generational experience. The gulf war was pretty politically formative for me. It’s not history so much as memory this time.

It is destabilizing to see almost the exact same gameplan but this time without the guardrails that at the time I took for granted.

I wrote this essay for the anniversary of Alex Odeh’s still unsolved murder. I tried to focus more on Alex the person and his legacy for the community than the frustrating story of a failed investigation, which I will write about elsewhere. mondoweiss.net/2025/10/40-y...
40 years after Jewish extremists murdered a Palestinian activist in California, no one has been held accountable
On October 11, 1985, Palestinian-American Alex Odeh was killed when a bomb destroyed his office. Despite suspicions that Jewish Defense League members carried out the attack, no charges have ever been...

In July 2024, Israel waited until Ismail Haniyeh *left* Qatar to visit Tehran before assassinating him.

Now it's just full-on bombing Qatar.

If the US had granted visas to PLO leaders to attend the UN meeting this month, I'd be very scared about Mossad operations in Manhattan.

Today, Prism is publishing a monthslong investigation by @laubast.bsky.social in partnership with Visualizing Palestine, that takes a deep dive into the experiences of repression that Palestinian, Arab, & Muslim journalists face in the U.S. while attempting to cover the genocide.

My contribution to the Palestinian feminist publication Scene48’s new bulletin is about Alex Odeh’s statue in California in the context of Palestinian memorials, or ‘Memorializations from Below.’ scene48.org/en/articles/...
Memorials of Resistance: Alex Odeh and Beyond
Alex Odeh’s statue and student protests highlight Palestinian resilience, reclaiming memory and identity amid ongoing efforts to erase their history.

Curtis Sliwa from the Guardian Angels and current Republican candidate for mayor of New York appeared on Morton Downey Jr. in 1989 to confront a Jewish militant. He had with him an Arab American wearing a keffiyeh who supported the intifada.

Adding to the nearly 270 media workers Israel has eliminated in Gaza, here are 5 Al Jazeera staff that Israel struck fatally yesterday: Anas al-Sharif, Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal, Moamen Aliwa and Mohammed Qreiqeh.

They gave their lives so we could witness the crime of the century.

Forty years ago, Alexander Cockburn wrote this opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal. A similar essay could be written today, though Israel’s only expanded and intensified its war on journalism. And there’s no way the Journal would publish it.

In the early 1980s, Arab American activist Dr MT Mehdi predicted that the American public would eventually break with Israeli militarism. He was correct that Israel would produce “permanent wars,” but is so far wrong that American sponsorship would cease.

The @washingtonpost.com published a very small percentage of the names of Palestinian children Israel has killed in Gaza. In tiny print size, it still took up more than a newspaper page. The scale of destruction Israel has enacted on Palestinian lives is unforgivable.

When Israel was formed it dispossessed Palestinian refugees to Gaza among other places. It committed massacres there in 1956 and occupied it in 1967. October 7th came after years of bombings and siege, all so Israel can continue to steal land that belonged to the Palestinians. There’s a history here

You think it started on October 7th? Palestinian artist Iyad Sabbah created these statues amid rubble to depict Palestinians fleeing their homes during Israel’s shelling of the Shuja’yyeh neighborhood in Gaza in *2014* Israel has since flattened Gaza city and surrounding areas.

In a 1985 LA Times oped, Mark Bruzonsky compared Israel and South African apartheid. He described how he first rejected the analogy but then came to see it as apt. Now, of course, Israel’s variation has proven to be far more destructive and deadly.
