They/Them. Autistic. Queer. Stories most welcome. Adventures, dragon hoards, faery rings, wizards' towers. Let's get lost in the woods together.
It depends what the library has and how fickle I'm feeling. Some books I'm keeping an eye out for:

–Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale"
–Austen's "Pride and Prejudice"
–Chambers's Wayfarers books
–Dinan's "Bellies"
–Huxley's "Brave New World"
–Maurier's "Rebecca"
–Nabokov's "Lolita"

Just over a week in, what are your thoughts on The Round House?

(Although I know some of you have already finished 😉)

Finished!

My god. This book should have been assigned reading in my (very Southern) high school instead of "To Kill a Mockingbird"*. Finishing it first thing this morning maybe wasn't the brightest idea, though, ha ha. That last letter got me but good. Gonna be sniffly all day now.

Today's book: "The Color Purple" by Alice Walker

This has been on my to-read list for ages. Eager to finally read it.

Finished.

This is one of those books I likely wouldn't have picked up on my own, don't necessarily want to read ever again, and am glad I read it. It'll linger uncomfortably under my skin for a long time, as it should. A very difficult read, but crucial.

So glad my library had a copy! I don't know much about this book besides what the blurb hints at, but I'm excited to read along with the #BlueSkyBookClub.

Physical books for me: audiobooks just go in one ear and out the other, and for whatever reason digital reading doesn't work for me. Paperbacks are easier on my hands, but a beefy binding is better in hardback—easier to hold/prop up.

Question of the Day: What book series did you like when you were young?
November 8, 2025 at 9:08 PM
I think most of my "loved" books are from before 2000, ha ha.

Since I'll be checking out the new film adaptation tonight, I'll go with "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley—one of my favorite classics.

I'll take the Pagemaster treatment any day. I'd definitely prefer Becky Chambers's Monk and Robot novellas as a first choice, but I wouldn't say no to any of my fantasy favorites either.
