For my 20th #20PostChallenge of my #20challengechallenge, I zoom in on the idea of the objectivization of value that brought me back to writing. It led me to writing Universal Basic Income and Value Realization: Metaphysical Insights for Implementation in the USA (osf.io/preprints/so...).

This is a classic bit of Latin here.

Just ate some boudin in celebration of the Glorious 8th. I stand firm that the anniversary of the Victory of the Battle of New Orleans should be celebrated every year with good Louisiana food. Without this victory, this food would not be American food. #cajun #creole #BattleOfNewOrleans #Glorious8th

In my family, we celebrate the Glorious 8th, the anniversary of the victory at the Battle of New Orleans.
Eat some boudin. Drink a Hurricane.

I’m currently rewriting the section on the martyrdom of Ignaz Semmelweis in my book Beyond Survival, framing it as the collision of his Weltschmerz with the pervasive nescience of the medical community.

Yesterday I learned a new word:
Nescience (noun)

Not ignorance from lack of information,
but ignorance maintained despite available evidence.

For knowledge to be accepted, simple ignorance must not be deemed culpable. Nescience is.

My 9yo daughter completed high school physics today. She is still working her way through 8th grade math in which she has completed 63%. She will be moving on to High School Chemistry next.

I am rewriting the part of my book where Semmelweis goes to experience reinvigoration of “mind and spirit” from the artistic treasures of Venice before making his breakthrough discovery. Preparation for inspiration like Newton and his apple. #Semmelweis #LeisureMatters #History #Science

I’ve submitted my paper to a third journal. Growth takes iteration; autonomy lives in persistence. Third time’s the charm.

The reason a penny costs more than a cent to make is that Congress requires materials chosen decades ago, using a process locked into old Mint equipment. If the penny were openly bid, it could be manufactured for under a cent while looking exactly the same to the public. #RestoreThePenny
Restore the #penny.
We never opened minting to true competitive bidding. Then we called the result “inefficient” and eliminated the coin instead of fixing the process.

Precision matters, especially for cash users.
Efficiency means reform, not erasure.

I tend to heavily ponder the risk of contributing to information hazard dynamics already heavily at play online and especially on social media, but sometimes, for people to realize falsehoods that they have carried into their lives, it is necessary to make the assumed explicit. #infohazard

I think Trump’s decision to greenlight Exchange Stabilization Fund assistance for Argentina is political — rooted in favoritism, not principle.

But that doesn’t make it wrong.

We can handle this.

Confidence provides support.
Support creates leverage.
Leverage expands capacity.

Just start moving; motion facilitates motion.
Think of something. Let thought become action.

Investing in yourself is still investment.

My daughter just turned 9. She’s 16% through 8th-grade math, studying high school physics, and philosophy. She recently argued that people shouldn’t think of punishment as good; it impoverishes everyone, not just the punished. I’m so proud.
