I already intend to do nothing of any consequence next year. There'd have to be something catastrophic to change my mind. But ofc nothing we do do is consequential so I guess I can do anything too.

Thinking back on the bad cultural things that happened this year and the one that's continued to confuse me is the Riyadh Comedy Festival. Apart from making it clear what some comedians will do for money I don't see how it's done anything for the Saudis at all. Not like them buying EA or whatever.

Wonderful ultimate episode by James Acaster. I could wax lyrical about how James is a top comedian and how this sort of shows why but it could equally annoy you if he annoys you. Which is why he is a top comedian to my mind.

Sad news, loved The Black Dog, Downie was one of the better innovators in the genre who made it more than just dance music and I still listen to his work on a weekly basis. Rest in Power.

I look at Everton's new stadium as a West Ham fan and I cry. It looks amazing. Not been there but thinking of going next season if we're both in the same division.
