Serviceberries! I've tasted serviceberries in BC and found them so-so, but these ones I picked during a visit to Newfoundland are sweet, and delicious. Blueberry meets apple/pear, for me, although some describe the flavour as almondy.

A snare drum lay abandoned, its #skin torn beyond repair. An empty barrel had been rolled into the fountain and now bobbed gently from the force of two pigeons attempting to rest on it but taking flight as Ilya came near.
