We have successfully settled our court case with the Environment Minister—and he has admitted he failed to do his job to protect threatened species! 🙌

This is an incredible win for threatened species. Hear our campaigner Sam Szoke-Burke give an update on what this means for wildlife. #wildoz

Today is a win for threatened wildlife across Australia 🙌

While it is deeply frustrating that we had to resort to the courts to get the government to do its job, this outcome confirms the expectations on the Albanese government to start prioritising nature & helping Aussie wildlife beat extinction.

📣 #BREAKING: We’ve settled our case against Australia’s Environment Minister!

Queensland’s plants and animals are in crisis. 🚨

The new State of Environment Report reveals 114 more threatened species were added in the last 4 years.

Both the #Queensland government and the Wilderness Society confirm the biggest threat: deforestation for pasture. #wildoz

#Lutruwita / #Tasmania is home to true forest giants, Eucalyptus regnans that tower up to 100m tall & huon pines that have lived for thousands of years. 🌳

These are some of the most carbon-dense #forests on Earth, quietly storing vast amounts of carbon & helping stabilise the climate. #botany

This isn’t just a sticker. It’s a love letter to Australia’s wild places and the #wildlife that call them home. 💚

If you see a sticker in the wild know it proves that together, there are more people who care about #nature than the corporate and political interests willing to exploit it. #wildoz

Not just a cute face, the sandhill dunnart is a tiny desert predator with a big role to play! 🐭✨

By day it curls up in sandy burrows, and by night it hunts insects and reptiles among the spinifex sandplains of South & Western Australia, helping keep ecosystems in balance.

What is older than the dinosaurs and is humanity's ancient cousin? The Australian lungfish! 🐟✨

This species is a true living fossil. Its ancestors date back 380 million years, and it’s barely changed in over 100 million. It can even breathe air when water runs out!

This was once a jarrah forest. 🌳 Now, it’s a bauxite mine. ⛏️

US mining giant #Alcoa wants to destroy 11,500 hectares of irreplaceable #jarrah forest in #WesternAustralia. These forests have already been mined for 60 years, further expansion will threaten the survival of these incredible ecosystems.

Over the weekend, the Tasmanian Liberals announced their decision to “not proceed” on plans to release forest reserves in Lutruwita/#Tasmania for logging.

This is a huge win for local communities who have been working tirelessly to have these areas protected, as was promised over a decade ago.

The #QLD government quietly dropped its latest #deforestation data this week, and it’s grim.

332,015 hectares were bulldozed in just one year. That’s 10x more forest bulldozed than what palm oil companies destroyed in Indonesia.

Most of it? For pasture. #auspol
