“Husker,” the aye aye greets with a knowing smirk, hands still clasped at her back, ever professional when she’s technically on duty. “I believe some of your… honored guests are waiting for you in the ballroom,” she says. Husk nods, poker face in place as he observes dressed up and costumed demons milling around and heading toward the ballroom. Casting her wide-eyed gaze sideways to him, Dottie smirks. “I like the princess.”

“Good, cuz we’ll all be well-acquainted soon enough,” Husk mumbles. “Dottie,” he says slower, angling his head to look at her directly. She blinks owlishly but does the same, fuzzy ears twitching. “I really appreciate the work you’ve put into all ‘a this. Shit will get rough, but I want you to know that you’re important to me.” Dottie allows herself a tiny smile, eyes softening.

“It’s my home, too, y’know?” she says quietly, looking back out over the crowd. “Can’t let a bunch of dickweeds fuck it up without fightin’ back.” Husk flashes a dark grin and nods before reeling the expression in.

“Goddamn right,” he growls. “You seen Angel?”

Dottie glances at him again, the smile widening into a devious grin that makes Husk raise a long eyebrow. “I’m not telling.”

“He looks that good, huh?”

“You’re gonna lose your mind,” she assures him, barely stopping a giggle. It clearly takes more effort to put her neutral face back on, and Husk squints suspiciously at her before turning on his heel and striding toward the ballroom himself.
