I have a patient with osteomyelitis of a finger, all surgeons who have seen her agree the finger needs to be amputated. But they keep discharging her from the hospital WITHOUT AMPUTATING THE FINGER

Had a patient yell at me today for trying to take his sexual history. He checked in for STD testing. Stuff like this makes me want to quit on the spot

Just found out today that due to changes in federal guidelines, my clinic can no longer distribute clean needles and other safe drug use supplies. I’m really not looking forward to diagnosing more HCV and HIV

My porch became a trick or treat pit stop for kids this year. Kid said they were tired from walking and our porch swing and rocking chairs were “so comfy” 😆

Every night when I tell my kids it’s bedtime, my 4 yo shouts “carry me mama!” I of course carry him upstairs every night because he’s my adorable little dictator 😆

The thing I was least prepared for in adulthood was having a parent develop a substance use disorder and refuse to take accountability for anything 🙃

My kids are in school/daycare full time now so I officially am free on Fridays. So far today I have done the following: ran 3 miles, grocery shopped, picked up paint at Home Depot, got vaccinated against Covid/flu, went to Sephora, and ate lunch. I’m going to get so much done it’s unreal 🤯

Just finished listening to the latest @swindled.bsky.social episode. I can’t think of anything more abhorrent than poisoning service members and their families and then denying them healthcare. Our government should be ashamed of #camplejuene and what they allowed to happen
