The Crypto industry contributed $250M to candidates in the 2024 election cycle. Mostly to Republicans and a few pro crypto D. They literally got every piece of legislation they asked voted into law. The next industry as a whole was the real estate with just $20M.

The procedural rule that keeps the Republicans from just bulldozing through government funding or other legislation can be changed with a rule reinterpretation and a simple 51 majority.
I don’t think Republicans expect they will ever again be out of power. The filibuster is dead in 3,2,1.

I have a confession to make : I believe Jim Jarmusch is a bad director.I have only seen 8 of his 14 movies but I doubt the others will be any kind of revelation. He could’ve stopped after Stranger Than Paradise.
And it feels like he’s writing his own Wikipedia entries for anything Jarmusch related.

These days I am not buying much cement but I will make sure that for travel I use companies that don’t contribute to the murderous campaign against Palestinians. Because they don’t really have to-it’s a choice they made, and i can make my choices as well.
