By the way, calling yourself an "uninvited" settler is weird.

It feels like one is putting words in the mouth of Indigenous and other colonized peoples, and simultaneously crying out, "poor me, i'm a victim too!"

Even weirder if you chose to come to North America yourself. Uh, just leave?

I cannot give @anarchozoe.bsky.social's "Means and Ends" a more glowing recommendation. Her reconstruction of the Anarchist theory of practice is particularly robust, and through every chapter of the book, I learned more than I expected to.

(I finished it months ago, just remembered I had bsky now)

Alberta First Nations issue cease and desist order against Danielle Smith's attempt to create a national unity crisis. Alberta is on treaty lands.
Those treaties were signed 30 years before Alberta became a province.

This is true... too many "activist" who call themselves "organizers" don't organize anything but demonstrations. In New Orleans I used to call them "event planners" because that's all they did. Plan one event after another. As if a demonstration is an adequate means of communicating with the public.

Also: If you don't have money to buy my (or anyone's) books, and you live in the anglosphere, before you pirate them, try to get them from your local library instead. They have it or can get it, they pay for the books, and in many places writers get paid for their books being lent. Everyone wins!

It's very surreal to see an academic who's name I had only known through their work appear here on BlueSky. Perhaps especially those I had not reacted favourably too - it's a good reminder to always 'see the human.'

Again, the perfect breeding ground for radicalization.

“To be radical is to grasp things by the root. To be radical is to go to the root of the matter. For man, however, the root is man himself.”
