Pushing power out of Westminster into hands of communities? U r joking. In Sheffield we took power as (diverse) communities 2 change our council. Now Clause 57 of the Bill will trash the referendum we won & top down impose the very governance system we rejected. Stop 57. www.itsoursheffield.org.uk

#Sheffield #SheffieldIsSuper In 2021 we had the courage to vote in a Referendum to change the way the Council is run & ensure ALL 84 Councillors have a meaningful say. Now the Government intends to overturn our vote-forcing us back to the old system we rejected ! Fight this by writing to your MP!

@jimmcmahon.co.uk there is nothing that's not "fit, decent and legal" about Sheffield's committee system - in fact it's the only thing that is. A referendum won by the people of Sheffield & resoundingly for change. Now you want to break legal promises and take power away from local people.

#BrightsideandHillsborough This is the way things were before 2021 Referendum when we voted to give ALL 84 Councillors a meaningful say in the way the City is run rather than just a leader/a few others. Government now intend to overturn this & force us back to a system which was a disaster for us.

The Government intends to overturn Sheffield's 2021 Referendum vote in which we decided we wanted ALL 84 Councillors to have a meaningful say in the way the City is run rather than just a leader & a handful of others.
Sheffield voters-we need you to write to your MP’s about this.

#Sheffield #SheffieldIsSuper Democracy here is about to be crushed by the Government. They intend to overturn our Referendum vote & force us back to the old system where the vast majority of Councillors don't get a meaningful say in how the City is run. See itsoursheffield.co.uk to find out more.

#Sheffield #SheffieldIsSuper democracy here is about to be trashed by the Government. The 2021 Referendum vote on the way the City is run is to be ripped up & we will be forced to go back to the old system we rejected. We need to try & stop this - see itsoursheffield.co.uk to find out how.

#Sheffield #sheffieldissuper decided in 2021 the way they wanted to be governed & now the Government seem determined to ignore this. Every Councillor & MP should proactively defend the decision residents made. It's Our City! are coming back and getting organised to do exactly that - see below...

In May 2021 the 3/4 of Sheffield voters told the council to stuff their "strong leader" and for democracy, transparency and accountability.
Now Labour want to stick two fingers up at the people of Sheffield and return to the past.
