The cotton HRMS suggests growers apply at least 6 different weed control tactics to target grass and broadleaf weeds spanning a 2-yr period. Use more tactics if the program incl. selective herbicides. Include herbicide + non-herbicide tactics.

As weeds enter the reproductive stage, they don’t recover well after being collected, and so they can’t be sprayed. Wait a few weeks, then collect seeds and send them in for testing over summer and autumn.

Need to break an annual ryegrass stranglehold??
Try 3 years of over 95% weed seed control followed by high-level control in subsequent years. Think consecutive broadleaf crops (e.g. legume plus canola) or a broadleaf crop followed by cereal hay.
