It's been great to adopt and utilise the 'Metaprobe' throughout Cardigan Bay to collect eDNA samples whilst carrying out BRUVs. Thanks to @giumaiello.bsky.social and @marianilab.bsky.social for introducing me to their eDNA sampler for upscaling aquatic monitoring. Now time to process the samples!🧬🌊🐬

Since I was a kid, when looking at pictures of #jaguars and #leopards side-by-side, i’ve always felt like the former was a scarier prehistoric version of the latter, a more elegant and sophisticated solution…
I still feel exactly the same!
That's not a tapir!

Standard trail cams are movement triggered and often film non-target species during conservation studies.

This 'by-catch' is a rich source of data, offering a snapshot of biodiversity and habitat health.

It also offers a glimpse of elusive apex predators like the jaguar. 🌎🧪
