I have seen a lot of criticism of 12 Neighbours and Neighbourly Homes in the last few years by smart and well-intentioned people, but are we not just letting perfection get in the way of progress? Is the model perfect? No. Is it ok to let people go unhoused because the model isn't perfect? Also no.

Am I the asshole? Was selling a wooden train track set for $25 set on FB Marketplace. Someone came to pick it up Friday night and was very intentional in telling me he was buying it for the kids at his church. It was clear the man was hoping I would do the Christian thing and just give him the set.

I don't care that it's Giving Tuesday, alumni association, I will never be rich enough to want to donate to you. There are kids in my community who don't have a lunch or a winter coat. Get over yourself.
