During today’s legislative committee meeting, I announced my intent to add a provision to our state legislative program opposing a casino in Fairfax County unless the Board of Supervisors requests it. The Board will vote on the full program next Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Yesterday, the region’s Transportation Planning Board voted to defer the I-495 Southside Express Lanes proposal, which would extend lanes from the Springfield Interchange to Maryland.
Our action showed more work is needed on the project to achieve the regional agreement necessary to advance it.
