I am really frustrated that the press is discussing the destruction of USAID as something that has happened rather than an illegal action that will likely be undone in two weeks when courts tell the world that it was illegal.

No matter how big or small, do something nice for yourself. Even if that means taking a few minutes to be in silence.

Self-care is important, especially in this moment.

The USAF removed Tuskegee Airmen & Women Airforce Service Pilots of WWII from basic training curriculum. For 30 years I promised these women I would not let them ever be forgotten again. We worked for decades to have them remembered. The Airmen too. Knowledge is power. 🗃️ www.msn.com/en-us/societ...

The discourse and sharing of cultures between TikTok users in America and Chinese users on Xiaohongshu is so fascinating, and honestly refreshing. The collective consciousness of Americans is growing and this very unique circumstance has propelled people into the matrix.

The people on meta platforms truly exist in a vacuum. Every time I am on Facebook or Ig I feel like I’m being force fed advertisements and content where the comment sections are teething with violent and unproductive noise. Meta count your days.
Meta now allows women to be called ‘property’ and LGBTQ+ folks labeled ‘mentally ill.’ Watching people justify staying on Meta —‘It’s just where everyone is!’—is wild. At what point do convenience and connection outweigh complicity in a system harming the most vulnerable? Asking for humanity.

Changes to its hate speech guidelines were among broader policy shifts Meta made to its moderation practices.

If we’re labeling cigarettes and alcohol for causing cancer, it’s time we label what’s truly deadly: our government’s policies causing unnecessary, preventable deaths. Ignoring systemic harm is as dangerous as any carcinogen—accountability shouldn’t stop at consumer products.
Alcohol labels should carry cancer risk warning, U.S. surgeon general urges
There are about 100,000 alcohol-related cancer cases and about 20,000 alcohol-related cancer deaths each year, according to the new report.

Think my resolution will be to read more.I’ve been inspired by Sara Schauer and her new found love for reading/life, through knowledge. I think knowledge will become our greatest weapon going into this year. Not just as a tool to continue fighting oppressive systems, but for our own inner peace.

We should decriminalize sex work to maximize their legal protection and their ability to exercise other key rights, including unionization, justice and health care. Decriminalization & regulation would prevent trafficking and exploitation of minors.

It also helps them report crimes against them.

if you made art this year, you did well. a sketch, even if it was scrapped ; a poem, even if it was deleted — mattered. you put thought to paper, you engaged with the creative alchemy of turning feeling to something tangible. doesn't matter if you weren't productive "enough." or good "enough."
