We are shocked and saddened to see that the #NavajoCodeTalkers have been removed from military websites following Trump's executive order ending federal DEI initiatives. The Navajo Code Talkers, known for using native languages to send messages, were instrumental in winning WWII. (1/4)

This is superintendent speak for "fuck off, we're not backtracking from taking care of our kids".

When a funding referendum failed a couple years ago, he looked at the voting data and killed much of the rural bus routes, only hurting the families that don't see the value in paying taxes. Good cat.

Part of the fun of parenting is watching your kids have a blast doing things they love. Here is our son during his taiko thing tonight as part of a larger party of performers. They opened the night and set the standard for the rest to follow. Great work! youtu.be/IUoToTV-vRo

If you don't have a governor willing to fight to protect their citizens, or more to the point, doctors, nurses, teachers, and clergy who will do the work on the ground knowing someone has their back, you need to find a new place to live.
After a week of Republicans sowing fear and chaos, the first reports of raids in Chicago are at an elementary school.

Targeting children and separating families is cruel and un-American.
ICE agents tried to enter a Chicago elementary school. Staff turned them away.
The incident comes amid a threatened Trump administration crackdown and sent ripples of fear through the K-8 school.

Since we're supposed to be ducking all things Meta next week, I've been checking out some of your follows so this feed o' mine can actually be somewhat useful.

Um, thanks?

My son doesn't always go with my recommendations - nor do I expect him to - but he *does* always ask what am I reading and what it is about.
Never forget: READING FOR PLEASURE has the biggest positive impact of any factor on children's life chances. So never stop sharing books with kids. Never stop reading to them, and helping them to read. Never stop changing lives. #literacy #kidlit #books

Not a horrible plan, but my son already has a stack of books I've been trying to get him to read for years with few successes.
Encourage your children to start a banned book club 📕 💙 ❤️

So...not to rain on anyone's parade but when I ticked Sports as a topic to follow, I absolutely did NOT request a flood of wrestling-related content.

Can I get a do-over on some of this? Sheesh.

If you have your own domain, take a gander at this.

It took awhile for the DNS to propagate, but got it done this afternoon: bsky.social/about/blog/4...

I figure since everyone else is joining the diaspora, I should probably pay more attention to things going on here like I started doing on Threads.

Um, hi?
