Anthony Burns, arrested May 24, 1854, in Boston, under the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850. Tried as property before being sent back to his owner. 50,000 people surrounded the courthouse. Boston Corbett disobeyed orders and assassinated John Wilkes Booth. He shoots Booth in the lower left back of the head, much the way Booth assassinated President Lincoln.
