I think Concord has two Eichler neighborhoods

He pulls the Airstream behind his '59 DeVille Convertible but he didn't have that one outside today
February 4, 2026 at 4:17 AM
Sure is!
February 4, 2026 at 4:15 AM
🤣
February 4, 2026 at 4:14 AM
Yep, not seen is his Nash Metropolitan and the MGB 😁

I keep the Phaeton fleet in the single digits though 😉

They are slightly different in color but I don't know the color name. I got a ride in both of them over the years and those really are very special cars. I'm just gonna say memory seats in '57!!

My neighbor and fellow car guy is rearranging his fleet today. Yes, that's a '57 and a '58 Eldorado Brougham!

That's a beautiful Century! How did you manage to get a ride on Treat Blvd?!

Just look at that fuel rail 😅

The new thermostat is in, now it's time to put it back together.
Reason for the failure was a broken wire to the electronically controlled thermostat.

Wow, that's 16 😬

The downside of 12-cylinder ownership is everything is times 12

This view never gets old 😁

The CT5-V is great as a performance sedan but I'm into large luxury sedans with ridiculous power. The ride has to be comfortable when I'm just cruising along hence the appeal of the CT6-V over the smaller CT5-V.
January 4, 2026 at 12:07 AM
I wasn't able to test that but it's very responsive w/ power on tap at all times. Very similar to the feel in my W12 Phaetons that power is instantly available without having to push the engine but of course the CT6-V is a lot quicker.

or you buy a CARB certified crate engine
January 3, 2026 at 2:47 AM
I'm not an expert on it but if you put a different engine in it, it would have to go through the CARB certification process which is too expensive
January 3, 2026 at 2:46 AM
Even if possible it wouldn't be an option here in California.

😅

It probably would have found it's way into other GM products down the road but the pandemic just made GM hit the brakes on their non-mass market vehicles in 2020. Makes you wonder why they didn't put it into the CT5-V Blackwing.
January 3, 2026 at 1:33 AM
That's what I would assume but with only 1,200 Blackwing engines ever made, it's gonna be difficult to find even a used one. There's one on eBay for like $18k. That might be worth the risk at a $30k price point but not at current sales prices. Not sure another engine would work due to electronics

Appreciate it. I could get some extended warranty from one of the reputable companies but not sure how they would deal with an unrepairable car, would still be a major hassle to get them to agree to a payout I assume.
January 3, 2026 at 12:32 AM
But you'd take a big hit financially.
Makes me wonder how the values are going to react to the fact that basically all of them are now out of the warranty period.
