I really... really cannot overstate how absolutely absurd this is.
Amazon laid of 30k workers because they tried - and failed - to compete with Steam, and most people didn't even know they were doing that.
To ADMIT that is absurd.

I legitimately didn't know they were competing with Steam and it's crazy to me that they burnt so much money on what sounds like something with very little (or wildly misguided) market research.
