This is a U2 reissue, six string electric guitar made by Danelectro in Korea circa 1998 in a purpleburst finish. It is a single cutaway, hardwood top and bottom with a plywood frame. This U2 reissue is very clean aside from one chip near the neck pocket on the body. The purpleburst is a rare color. This is a Wild Thing reissue, six string electric guitar made by Danelectro in China in 2011 with a black, high-gloss finish and white Tolex binding. This guitar is 100% original and is basically new-old stock. This is a rare, limited edition guitar. It is a double cutaway, masonite top and bottom with a plywood frame. The original version of the Wild Thing was a one-off and never in production at Danelectro. The pickups and electronics are the classic Danelectro style with stacked tone and volume controls for each pickup with a three-way toggle switch to choose between neck, bridge or both pickups. In the middle position the pickups are louder and act like humbuckers. This model was a limited run and has unique pickups and tone. They’re strong and bright single coils with a chrome finish. And, these single-coils are considerably more clean sounding than most. The classic Danelectro-style bridge is adjustable for height and intonation. It comes with the original Danelectro gig bag, warranty card, hang tag, original brochure, and wrench to adjust the neck (the adjustment must be under the nut or in the neck-pocket since it’s not visible on the body.) This is a DC59 Limited Edition/3021 reissue, six string electric guitar made by Danelectro in China 2010 in a black finish. The “seal” pickguard is white and has an aged finish. It is a double cutaway, masonite top and bottom with a plywood frame. This DC59 Limited Edition/3021 reissue is basically new-old-stock (NOS). You even get to remove the plastic on the cavity cover! The matt black finish is a sharp looking with white tolex binding. Overall, Danelectro issued this model with an aged finish that’s apparent in the body color, pick guard, pickups, and tuners. The pickups and electronics are simplified to one tone, one volume control with a three-way toggle switch to choose between neck, bridge or both pickups. This model was a limited run and has unique pickups and tone. They’re strong and bright single coils with a matt finish. And, these single-coils are considerably more clean sounding than most. This is a 56 Pro/U2 reissue, six string electric guitar made by Danelectro in Korea 2005 in a black finish. The pickguard is clear plastic and does have playing wear. It is a single cutaway, masonite top and bottom with a plywood frame. This 56 Pro/U2 reissue is very clean but does have nominal playing wear. The black finish is a sharp looking with black sides versus the classic tolex binding. The pickups and electronics are simplified to one tone, one volume control with a three-way toggle switch to choose between neck, bridge or both pickups. This model was a limited run and has unique pickups and tone. They’re stronger but slightly more muted than the original Danelectro super bright single coils. It has more of a twang and less of a raw Punk tone. And, these single-coils are considerably more clean sounding than most. This is a National made Triolian resonator guitar with a Walnut Sunburst finish and a hollow steel (metal) body that was built in Chicago, IL in 1936. The guitar has been fully restored to its original finish including a National-authorized headstock logo (we had to supply National with documentation in order to get the waterslide logo.) The restoration was done by our friends at Cindy Guitars which are associated with Carmine Street Guitars here in New York City. Cindy did a stellar job reproducing the original finish. The back of the neck has not been changed and shows its almost 90 years of playing wear. The original cone was replaced and is included in the sale. The serial number is B3xx which dates it to 1936. Cindy Guitars/Kelly Guitars three pickup, right-handed, electric guitar with masonite body and a modified MicroFrets neck in salmon with original, singular Cindy Guitars illustration made in 2013. Another one of the truly unique guitars that we really love. If you’re familiar with Kelly Guitars and Cindy Guitars from the documentary you’re going to really dig this amazing axe. It was the first and possibly only collaboration between Cindy and Rick. It started with a Kelly Tele body in salmon that Cindy customized with one of her exquisite illustrations. Then a MicroFrets neck was added and modified to be squared off. (Rick Kelly worked at MicroFrets in the early 1970s and he purchased a lot of the original necks when the factory was shut down circa 1974.) It has three strong and dynamic single-coil (with two humbucker settings), lipstick pickups with tone/volume controls and a five-way pickup selector switch.The guitar is in very good condition overall. It shows a few smudges from the artist’s hand while drawing the illustration. Otherwise, it’s in new-old stock condition and has very little playing wear. Rick and Cindy are long time friends of VintageSilvertones and have done a lot of work for us. And, bestowed upon us some incredible guitars over the years; definitely check out their other guitars or stop by their shop on Carmine Street in the Greenwich Village. It’s a fun guitar to play and will definitely work for Rock, Punk, Metal, Jazz, or any style that needs a Rockin’ tone. This is not just a guitar but rather a piece of art. This is a very rare, double cutaway, two pickup, blue Bartell thinline electric guitar, created by master craftsman, Paul Barth, circa 1964. It is similar to the company's Spyder guitar but it is a hollow body with an F-hole. This guitar looks like it is somewhere between a Magnatone and a Mosrite in design, perhaps because of Barth's association with those producers. Barth also worked for Rickenbacker. His co-worker there, Roger Rossmeisel, introduced the German carve, a beveled ridge around the top of a guitar, to the company. Both Bartell and Mosrite guitars feature the German carve. This guitar also has some of the other features Bartell is known for, including: a strat-style offset double cutaway body, a Strat-inspired headstock and two single coil pickups. This Bartell also has a switch that takes the pickups out of phase with each other. This guitar is 100% original and in good condition. The action is fast and it plays fantastically. The sweet, rocking tone screams the story of the guitar's fifty plus years of musical history. It also comes with its original hardshell case. This is a La Baye 2×4 Six guitar designed by a guitar teacher, Dave Helland, from Green Bay Wisconsin and manufactured in 1967 by the Holman-Woodell factory, most famous for the Wurlitzer guitar that they made briefly in 1966. This is a solid body, rectangular, literally 2×4 shaped, guitar featuring a mahogany-natural finish, two single coil pickups with “La Baye” engraved on them, a white plastic guardplate on which the pickups and bridge are mounted, a metal bridge with individually adjustable plastic saddles, a plastic white plate on the treble side on which the pickup selector and jack are mounted, a white plastic plate on the bass side on which the volume and tone control are mounted, a tremolo tailpiece, and three metal strap pins, one at the top of the body, one at the bottom and one on the tailpiece. These guitars are very rare as there were only about forty-five of them made including the “Four” and the “twelve” models which are the bass and 12 string versions. After presenting the instruments at the 1967 Chicago NAMM show, Helland and Holman-Woodell ceased production, finding a lack of interest at the time, outside of Tommy James and the Shondells who played them very briefly. There was a resurgence of interest in the instrument after Devo was seen using the guitars in the late 1970s. These guitars are definitely cool looking and unique. This guitar is an extremely rare, Wurlitzer Gemini solid body, electric guitar made in Neodesha, Kansas in 1966. It was made by the Holman-Woodell guitar company who's guitars were funded and distributed by Wurlitzer of Elkhart, Indiana. Holman-Woodell also made guitars and/or have a history with Alray, LaBaye, 21st Century, Mistic, and Kustom. Holman-Woodell made guitars from 1965 through 1968. The guitar is in near mint condition but does have some minor wear and a couple of finish dings in the lower part of the body. All the electronics work properly and the neck is straight. This guitar is a rare, Wurlitzer Wildcat (model number: 2522) solid body, two pickup, stereo, electric guitar made in Neodesha, Kansas 1966. It's part of Wurlitzer's Wild One line of guitars. The guitar is in good condition but does have some finish wear and dings on the body. The pickguard is cracked in a few places on the upper bout but we reinforced it on the inside. So it will hold up fine. All the electronics work properly and the neck is straight. The neck has playing wear to the finish on the back. This is an extremely well made, solid guitar. This is a 1990s Jerry Jones Longhorn Bass6 electric guitar made in Nashville TN. It was owned by Robert Quine who played with Richard Hell & The Voidoids, Matthew Sweet, Lou Reed and many others. It’s the final of three Quine guitars we purchased shortly after Robert died. Robert was good friends with Rick Kelly at Carmine Street Guitars. Rick handled all the musical equipment sales after Robert died. It comes with multiple forms of documentation including the promotional sales badge, copy of original sales receipt, and the inventory list from Carmine Street Guitars. In addition, there’s some case-candy left by Quine. This Longhorn Bass6 features a semi-hollow, longhorn double cutaway, in a copper sunburst finish front and back, two single coil lipstick pickups, a clear plastic pickguard, two metal strap pins with Kluson Deluxe-style tuners. This is a truly unique, custom-made, JW Jones (Jerry Jones) electro-acoustic, electric guitar. It was made by Jerry Jones in 1987 in Nashville, Tennessee USA. We believe it was made for Jon Goin, a session player in Nashville. This is a solid body guitar with a translucent blue/aquaburst finish. It has a sound hole and similar feel to an acoustic guitar but clearly is an electric. It's very lightweight. It's got an acoustic sound because of the piezo pickup but is more biting than a standard piezo pickup. This guitar sounds great through a small amp when overdriven. If you're looking for a light, hybrid guitar this is the one. It's professional made and very durable. It's been a working guitar so it's well maintained. It comes with the original gig bag. Silvertone 658 - acoustic black circa 1965 - NOS new old stock includes original case, paperwork, and shipping box from Sears made by Kay of Chicago. The guitar has a black satin finish. It is literally in the exact condition it was the day it shipped from the factory in the mid-1960s. It has never been played. So the finish is extremely clean with only a few factory blemishes. Harmony Stratotone Doublet H88 electric guitar made for Aldens department store circa 1957. The Aldens model number is 9910. These were sold from 1955-1958. This is a two pickup, solid body (made of one block of wood for entire guitar), black sparkle finish (similar to the Silvertone Jupiters). The guitar is completely original. The neck is straight and the electronics all work correctly. This is an extremely rare, Silvertone, Newport, solid body, electric guitar made by Harmony of Chicago (Harmony model H42) from circa 1953. It's fully functional. The neck is straight and thick. All the electronics work properly. It's 100% original. The original rubber bumper binding is all there and in excellent shape. The guitar has stacked volume and tone controls along with a tone-defeat switch. The sound is rich. This is a small scale guitar. When you play this guitar you'll feel like you're there with Les Paul inventing the first sold body "slab" guitar. It comes with a gig bag. Both players and collectors will appreciate this guitar. This is an extremely rare and very clean, Silvertone, Newport (H42/1), solid body, electric guitar made by Harmony of Chicago (Harmony model: H42/1) from either 1952 or 1953. The pot date is 1952. (So it's as old as the earliest Les Pauls.) It's fully functional and plays great. The neck is straight and thick. All the electronics work properly. It's 100% original. This is an early 1960’s Silvertone 1423 Jupiter made by Harmony of Chicago. The Jupiter 1423 is the top of Harmony’s Stratotone line. The body style is similar to a Les Paul. It has DeArmond pickups, beautiful mother-of-pearl block inlays on the neck, a black finish speckled with rich gold color and the “Blender” control which regulates the bass and treble pickups. The fast action feels good on the fingers. This guitar features a set list on its back from perhaps a rocking gig in its long and interesting history. Listen to the stories this guitar can tell you with its sweet tone. Other than some very little wear on top of the headstock, this guitar looks really good, plays beautifully and sounds excellent.
