Easter DIY - configured the Withings Sync (github.com/jaroslawhart...) app to sync my Withings data to Garmin. Let's see if this gives more accurate data from Garmin as well.

It’s one thing to follow the news cycle and financial reporting on the tariffs and what not. However, how it effects everyday people is the key and based on this Reddit thread, it’s getting pretty crazy already: www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/...

I've been trading $HIMS for a few years now and just a week ago the short interest was a whopping 57 million shares (+30% of the float). If this rally continues, we could see another short squeeze that previously took the share to +$70s.

John Bolton on BBC just now: "I think we are in danger not just of losing the NATO alliance [...] but practically every alliance around the world as our friends and allies look at this performance and wonder if there's anybody in this administration who understands what's at stake here."

After being sick for a week and slowly recovering, it is always a sobering reminder to realise how important one's health is.

I'm looking forward to getting on the bike once again next week and prepping for the summer season. 🚴‍♂️

What a great speech by Senator Kaine from Virginia, who visited Finland last weekend. Facts, as one would say: youtu.be/Rt0oy-eEl_A?...

Crazy times. There is actually a reference in history when a czar laid off their generals. It is not because of DEI or other appropriate hiring policies - it is to plant your top men when things get tough internally. Stalin, that was his name. www.npr.org/2025/02/21/n...
Trump fires the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
Trump announced the dismissal of Air Force Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr. and said he would nominate Lt. Gen. Dan Caine, a retired three-star general, to succeed him as the top U.S. military officer.

Dear Malcolm Gladwell, in your book the Revenge of the Tipping point you share a story where the local Miami overstory turns a good doctor to the dark side. How does this overstory work on the global political arena?

WSJ writes an unexpected opinion piece on JD Vance’s speech. The comment section did not disappoint. These times are truly odd and worrying.

This is becoming the golden age of comedy if anything.

This is interesting, though not surprising. Deepseek erases its answer regarding Tiananmen Square.
It's really interesting asking Deepseek about Tiananmen Square. I would have expected it to simply shrug at my question about famous modern historical events there (something *it* brought up), but instead it started listing them - then when it got past the 1970s it suddenly disappeared the answer.

We have had family over this weekend and we’ve been charging a lot of EVs. Electricity has definitely been cheap in Finland this weekend.

Few photos from Friday night DIY: made a simple magnetic mount for my Starlink Mini, to be attached to the chassis of a camper van. Should enable better reception. Total cost: about 10-15€ for the magnets.

I finally made the move from X to Bluesky. I used a Chrome add-on to migrate everyone I followed on X to Bluesky. I followed about 1580 people on X and was happy to see about 620 have made the switch.
