Me talking to anyone and everyone about One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad. Do you think he’s read Le Guin?

Some books for right now. Just stared reading Dark Laboratory after finishing Undrowned and Chain-gang All-stars. Then will likely start A Certain Hunger and Shock Doctrine, and sneak in The Lottery graphic novel sometime this weekend 📚🌿

Once I fix the moldy linen closet, rip out the water damaged lathe and plaster in the spare bedroom, and get a designated creative space set up in our 1898 home, it’s back to regularly scheduled art making

My boss: why are you on your phone at work?

Me: I had to look up photos of bog body outfits

Idk I feel like if you’re arguing over whether it is or is not a nazi salute that’s proof enough the situation is and has been fucked up

Wasn’t sure if the guillotine was too much for Instagram but it’s still up! Here’s basically a collage of where I’m currently at emotionally I guess

I don’t want to tell Meta this but after the Tik tok stunt I really don’t want to be on Tik tok anymore…

Coming back from my first migraine in a while doesn’t feel too differently from trudging through a fog - having a hard time distinguishing much, but happy to be moving through it

I’d like to find some books like the show scavenger’s reign

Hello, #booksky - here’s the stack of books I’ll be pulling from this year, in between library reads and impulse purchases. Any on your reading lists this year?

I’ll miss the corners of booktok I lurked in, so here’s to trying to find more people to follow, again.

Tried to explain to a work friend that when I hear the word Rainman my mind goes to that Rainmaker scene in Looper, and not to some other poorly aged movie I’ve actually never seen.

Just picked up mourners bestiary from the library!
I’ve seen everyone posting their end of the year lists. We’ve got 3 weeks left in the year…? I’m not even gonna start looking it over until I’ve finished these four 5-star hopefuls

Heres my opinion about any & all covid discourse from now until i die;

The pandemics been TRAUMATIC. Some are certainly more affected than others, sure, but nobody on earth ISN’T currently affected by it. I havenot seen one person, masking or not, who has had the resources to fully process it.

I know this is in reference to masking and Covid but this is how I’m trying to approach my gut reactions these days for all things. Whole thread here is great.
If you think youre the more reasonable party, then BE reasonable. This world we live in has traumatized everyone youll meet, even if theyre materially affected in different ways. traumatic responses are notoriously irrational. Save your energy when you need, but console each other when you can.

Didn’t realize Ralph Ineson is in the new Nosferatu movie, as if my expectations weren’t high enough with the rest of the cast list. I will watch him in anything, as long as he’s got that Yorkshire accent, my god. I’m truly about to be insufferable.

What’s a popular book you really did not like? For me it’s gotta be Tender is the Flesh. For how brutal everyone made it out to be I expected a lot more from it as far as the story goes.
