Downside of country living...
Last night some local yokels tore down the mailboxes on our road. Most were just ripped off their posts, but ours got torn up by the post.
Still, this was my morning walk, so swings and roundabouts...

Just another November morning on Lake Erie's north shore. I'm always struck by how quickly the sunrise moves from the NE to SE at this time of year.

First snow falling this morning here on Lake Erie's north shore, and my wild persimmon tree is still stubbornly hanging on to so much sweet sweet fruit.

Good morning, especially to our American neighbours who elected a Democrat in yesterday's blue wave!
And now, a sunrise.

Clinging to my memory of that October night in 1993 walking down Yonge Street in formal little black dress (just left a wedding), high-fiving strangers. They did good. Never thought it would go to 7 games.

Time for some chicken content.
Our fat and sassy red hens moving onto garden beds that had been cruelly fenced off all summer. This garden path had been hidden by marigolds spelling over the edge of their raised bed. When pulling the marigolds out during garden clean-up, found a secret stash of eggs. This is my persimmon patch. These hens move in as soon as they're released from their coop in the morning, and then continue to clean up all day long. I have to get out before them in after sunrise to gather whatever fell overnight, or I would have none to harvest.

Harvested my last 2 pawpaws for 2025. Still got lots of pears and persimmons, though. I love my fall fruits.
