The last third of my cup of coffee had gone cold. My 12yo came in to say good morning, so I asked him if he'd do me a favor and "warm up my coffee." He took the cup, and a few moments later I heard the microwave dinging. He didn't add hot coffee, he heated it up. So literal.

Since it's about a pair of aspiring cheaters, the phrase "getting caught in the rain" mightve been doing double duty here. When they catch each other, they aren't mad. They like getting caught. In the rain.

The United States Military Academy has just eliminated all Cadet clubs and activities for POC. Most of these have existed for decades like the Society of Black Engineers. They were there when I was a Cadet in 1987. All of the religious ones remain. This isn’t DEI. It’s white Christian Nationalism.

Or if you're in a food desert: arrange a group trip to stock up on harder-to-find seasonings at small grocers to jazz up the stuff you have to source from the few local options. Minimize your suffering/austerity AND how much of your money goes to ppl whose ethics you disagree with.

Buy from small ethnic grocers; they stock delicious seasonings to get much better rice&legume recipes. You can enjoy your food & avoid corporations you don't like.
