Breaking: @centerforbiodiv.bsky.social is calling on AZ Game & Fish Commission to ban dog pack hunting for mountain lions, bears, coati & other wildlife. Currently hunters use GPS-collared dogs to track wildlife for miles via smart phone apps & satellites, putting jaguars & ocelots at risk.

While the number of people crossing the border increased exponentially since Trump’s wall went up a new study reveals an 86% reduction in wildlife crossings. At well over $20 million dollars a mile, Trump’s wall is both a wastefully expensive tactical failure & an ecological disaster.

This story is blowing my mind:

“The sanitariums reuse their oil for a few months before getting a new delivery, though they say they filter it after each bather.”
Bathing in Oil at a Climate Summit? It Leaves a Stain.
In Azerbaijan, site of the COP29 climate talks and a petrostate, people aren’t only proud of their oil. They swear by its health benefits and visit resorts to soak in it.

Here’s the Center’s take: “Picking someone like Chris Wright is a clear sign that Trump wants to turn the U.S. into a pariah petrostate,” said Jean Su, director of the Center for Biological Diversity's energy justice program.
Breaking: Trump has named Chris Wright, a climate-change-denying, anti-regulation, fossil-fuel executive as Energy Secretary in his new administration.
It’s obviously a catastrophic pick for (to name only two victims) the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge—& the planet.
