JET interview is next week, I worry so much about how much of an upheaval it will be for me to rent my condo, send my pets to my parents, etc. but also I've had dreams about ending up in Japan on various travel adventures every night for the past week.

Graphic design and UI/UX people out there, can I implore you, as a person with a vision disability, to PLEASE move on from the aesthetic of things having small, compressed text at low contrast? I'm begging you. You can still make things look clean and nice with other design aesthetics. I promise

After going through some rough years in animation and spending part of last year between jobs I shot my shot at the random backup plan I had in the back of my head for years - applying for JET - thinking I probably wouldn’t get in anyway. Today in absolute bureaucratic idiocy, according to the CRA I magically transformed into an albino person in 2025. That's right, folks, that's why they can't possibly pay me disability benefits before then. If you witnessed me as an albino person before 2025 you are clearly part of a mass delusion.

The Grouse Grind is the most obnoxiously Vancouver thing ever. And by that I mean that Vancouver people took a thing that should be simple - hiking - and made it competitive, overhyped, crowded AND monetized (you have to pay the gondola to go back down)

Ive realized nothing scares me more than stories of people getting lost and dying in liminal spaces like stairwells, parking structures, hospital hallways, etc. Like it fills me with a visceral terror worse than stories of death in the wilderness or at sea. Id rather die in an extreme sport. Really.
