I'm still getting used to this place. If you follow me and I don't follow back, I might have just missed it. Try unfollowing and following back, or @ me. We'll get things in good shape soon enough.
Going to visit family later this week, but low on groceries. Thought I might grab a bite while out, but Skip lost them, and the other services are having trouble seeing them.

So, making dinner with groceries when I get home. Merry nothing today.

Bad (sic) Bradford's latest mayoral election sign: A reminder of the "skill" he has as a councillor.

If you know one of his Beaches-East York supporters, share this demo of his political/service skill. If they plan to place a vote for him, plan to end your friendship. They're that stupid. #topoli

That was amusing (and memoratic). Need some groceries, so hopped on a bus, but walked to the back while it moved full speed without gripping posts.

Ok, still impaired right eye vision, but I guess my balance is back! Plus, heard from insurance, so good chance I'm getting proper income soon.

So, got my renewed Ontario ID today, no new anything required, not even photo. OHIP card is on the same schedule, but with no notification.

What's funny? Gemini gave a complete bullshit response about needing to visit Service Ontario.

Nope. Did it online in about 5 minutes. Dumber than Doug.

Short walk: St. Clair and O'Connor to VP, down to Danforth, then over to Woodbine. VP and Danforth have changed. Oh, and vacuuming and mopping earlier and some dusting, plus a little plastering and sanding.

Not bad after self-adjusting 2000mg of one med in half. Completely well behaved.

Wow, thought I'd check the balance on an unused LCBO gift card I got in a game last Christmas. $50! The problem? Theoretically not supposed to drink right now.

I mean, I have ignored that to a tiny degree, but $50 could last me months or longer at this point. Suggestions? Stay light.

Huh. I love the manufacturer, but not this brand. 6.5% lies about its lack of flavour, as I love their over 9% brands. Oh, but they do have an excellent 4.5%.

Anyway, consumption is way down for my stroke prevention, like 10 days or more for one. Any recommended replacements?

Before moving to this neighborhood over 20 years ago, I had two dates here. First one was at a bowling alley that was part of a McDonald's ad but is now a condo. Next was at a fantastic restaurant on the corner that just closed after over 30 years.

East York is becoming East Dork.

So, Weather Network calling for 23° today. Environment Canada for 25°. Google? Maybe 20.

Plus, I actively hate Gemini. Google would make me happy if it fails.

Or when.

So, apparently had a stroke end of April with no memory of the incident or 2.5 weeks of my hospital 3 weeks. 4 more weeks in an observation joint, then escaped.

Not drinking heavily or often, but no negative effects when I ostensibly ignore that advice to never for a year.
August 27, 2025 at 7:24 PM
Well, that was a walk, from my place up VP to Eg then LCBO near Warden. Luckily a needy woman put me off entering, since end of April I was under obs for 3 weeks, then conscious obs for 4 more.

I guess the "don't drink" suggestion holds for up to a year. What heart attack?

First proper walk of the season. Got out the light jacket and shades. Still a little windy for one-handed typing, but the other is occupied.

F me, concert tickets are nuts. SOAD and Deftones at Rogers in September, couple hundred minimum.

Midnight adventures. Thought a fuse blew at my parents'. Decades ago, lightning took out some outlets. Some lamps were flickering past couple days and an alarm clock needed resetting. Before bed, no lamps or clock.

Thank good hearing for finding a cooked arcing marr in a junction. Repair complete.

Not trying to snoop, but some government employee is reading PIPEDA docs in the seat ahead of me. I mean, not sensitive, but maybe be more careful? Sort of the point, no?

Train beer. I might have cracked into some work on my laptop, but tariff jitters have made my life easier, a client too busy scrambling to push work at me while I'm away. Just 3 or 4 other projects to work on while I "vacation."

Thanks Trump!

Aren't flyers supposed to be sales, not a catalogue?

These are the non-controversial takes I come to Bluesky to share. I'm not a deep person.

I do still spend far too much time on Xitter, but these days I spend a fair bit of time trying to corrupt Grok. When it gets too both-sider, I challenge every RW point it offers until it concedes.

Gotta deprogram it from the cult.

Had to get off the hellsite. The mix of schadenfreude and existential dread was getting a little much, and I need sleep.
January 21, 2025 at 3:55 AM
I'm kinda digging being able to pop in and be actually personable once in a while, and getting good old nuanced takes on current events instead of the ravings favoured by an unhinged billionaire.

Also still too attached to punching down at Cromags on Xitter.

Happy Friday! Blueskies and fair winds!

I will say, the porn bots are cuter and more believable here.

Still don't follow back.
January 7, 2025 at 10:32 PM
Do I say things on the hellsite that will get me banned again for another week? This 51st state shit, invading Greenland and Panama, etc. Getting under my fucking skin.

Gonna be 55 tomorrow. Too late to join the armed forces? I'm down for a little NATO intervention.

Just say no to neurosyphilis.
Trump says he is going to do an advertising campaign about "how bad drugs are for you" and adds, "nobody has done this before"

Best thing I'm bringing home from Christmas. When I was 3 or 4 and it was just me and my dad, we made these from Christmas cards, which were still a thing. Don't remember making them, but I do remember placing them. Nice he kept them all this time.

You know it's bad when Alberta is only +12. They've elected Klein and Smith. +12 is like -40 for sensible provinces.
Pierre Poilievre Net Approval Polling:

Canada: -17%

SK: +28%
AB: +12%
MB: -5%
BC: -10%
ON: -18%
ATL: -25%
QC: -36%

Men: -3%
Women: -29%

18-34: -29%
35-54: -10%
55+: -14%
