I haven’t been using ChatGPT for a while, since Gemini or Claude often perform a lot better, and when I saw the last bill notification from ChatGPT I thought, “Do I need it at all?”

I think this should put an end to the endless debate whether schema helps or not.

I tried the GPT-5 API too. It’s very slow and unusable. Requests with 'minimal' reasoning effort take around 15-20 seconds to complete when with 4o model it was around 5 seconds. Output quality is also much lower.

I am using the Responses API. Prompts with c. 4k tokens have gone from a c. 5 seconds to 30+. I had to go through all my tests lengthening timeouts to even see what it is producing. The ones I looked ...
