I wish I was surprised. Buried in this Budget is a plan to slash the Digital Services Tax, giving a multi-billion tax cut to US tech giants and the likes of Elon Musk.

That's right, cutting taxes for the world's richest man while hiking them for millions of hard-working Brits.

I love watching Sancho on the ball but I’m not sure he has the bravery for the Prem.

Think its clear now that Harvey Elliott has no future at #avfc

The blame for any trouble tonight lies with the leaders of the 3 main political parties for politicising a police matter without knowing the facts

Impressed with Jenricks recollections of visiting Villa Park with Wolves in the 80’s bearing in mind he was 2 at the time 🤣🤣🤣

Great game, atmosphere and result in Amsterdam but leave with a heavy heart because at times before and after the game I thought I was at a Tommy Robinson rally…..

I abandoned X ages ago, just use BlueSky and Threads BUT now my “following” feed on Threads has just been taken over by far right s***e.

Transferring #avfc season tickets is a nightmare. Transferring via the app is free but doesn’t work. Transfer via PC and you get charged nearly £8. Only #avfc could automate a process and make it worse!!!

Businesses fail because they run out of money eg they cannot raise or pay back debt. Businesses don’t fail because of their wages:revenue ratio. If UEFA/FA want to protect clubs with financial regulations then they need to address debt. Below courtesy of Swiss Ramble.

Well done #avfc. Having realised that ticketing was going to be a disaster tomorrow - they have taken proactive steps to try and reduce it. Maybe the new regime in commercial will be different because the last guy would have hid in hospitality and put his head in the sand.

Difficult situation for JJ. Next 5 year contract is the big one for him. His performances over the last 2 years probably don’t warrant the contract he believes he deserves based on his potential. He’s probably also better suited to a 433 as an 8 than our shape as a 10. A real shame.

Our colleagues Al Jazeera reporters Anas al-Sharif & Mohammed Qraiqeh, & cameramen Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal & Moamen Aliwa have been killed in a strike on a tent for journalists near Al Shifa hospital. They worked relentlessly through bombing & hunger to document this war. Please remember them

Looks like UEFA SCR breach is due to deals involving Kellyman, Iroebunam and Luiz. Despite the fact that we sold Kellyman for less than Chukwuemeka, Iroegbunam went for less than Chukwuemeka and Ramsey and we all know we were forced to sell Luiz on the cheap.

So finally finished my big AVFC 24/25 thread (having a toddler & newborn is hard man).
Our transfer activity is going to be quite limited, so I'll focus on why we had a down year & how we might improve with the same players; specifically turning tools into production in our new 22-25 year old core.

Last night brought the shock news of Ozzy Osborne's passing, just weeks after he and Black Sabbath reunited for a Villa Park homecoming show.

Richard Franks traced the Aston roots of the rockers for us earlier this year.

Presume this means Kamara is staying? We couldn’t carry Barrenechea if he is but if he was leaving Barrenechea is an obvious replacement.
#AVFC close to a €15m deal with Benfica for Enzo Barrenechea. No agreement yet but expected to finalised soon. Villa well-stocked in midfield with 24yo available to move & is now set to depart without making a competitive appearance. Story @theathleticfc.bsky.social

Bit surprised to see Josh Feeney go to Huddersfield. It’s very difficult to break into a Prem Lge team in that position but was expecting him to move to the Championship. Would’ve thought pre-season with Villa would be more beneficial for him than a pre-season with a League 1 team.

Got to think Starmer’s really got this wrong. Still won’t be extreme enough to win racists back from Reform but will lose the left and centre left. We voted for him last time in diminished numbers to get the tories out but in reality it’s now hard to tell the difference.

Arsenal lose to Newcastle and then just get a point away at Southampton on the final day and end up in Europa.

Spurs win the Europa and end up in the Champs League.

Oh to see Arteta’s face……

Last season #avfc got 68 points. Win the final 4 and we get 69 points. Regardless of final position that would be phenomenal progress with a Champs League QF and an FA Cup SF.
