Treated myself after battling in my head for the longest time, knowing that nothing would stop me buying real, borrowing online or listening to books. Took my Kindle out with me, took my book as well because otherwise I’d miss it 🤷🏽♀️

Wednesday started with a little paddle in the river, followed by breakfast made in the woods. Then off to Lydford Gorge to see the waterfall and Devil’s Cauldron. Ooh and of course NT secondhand bookshop.

One of my sons gave me a treatwell voucher for Mother’s Day… so whilst I don’t usually enjoy the whole pedi experience, cos pain, I do love having nice nails, and this has been practically pain free. A win win with nice tootsies ready for my little mini break :)

One of my sons gave me a treatwell voucher for Mother’s Day… so whilst I don’t usually enjoy the whole pedi experience, cos pain, I do love having nice nails, and this has been practically pain free. A win win with nice tootsies ready for my little mini break :)

We said goodbye to our beautiful #JessieCat yesterday. She would have been 18 this month and we’d had her from just a few weeks old. She still looked like a baby in the first photo taken a few months ago.
She died peacefully at home with us and she’s now laid to rest next to her brother, Tiger.

We’re staying in a nice hotel in Stratford upon Avon but I didn’t fancy anything off the menu in the sort of adjoining restaurant and we couldn’t get a table anywhere we fancied so we’re gonna have a sit in chippy tea. I’ve got wine which will also be really ok to put on my chips 😂

2nd Wednesday of the month now = Bookclub. Bloody marvellous. It was our second meet this evening and I love it! Mr Knight didn’t mind that I went out, really he didn’t 😉

Finally finished this today (in between reading other stuff). It was a difficult read at times but felt like an important piece of work. Set in the 60s during civil war in Nigeria/Biafra, this isn’t the story the west told us.

Waiting for Dort and her mates/flatmate to get in to The West End so we can take them for lunch. We needed a little sit down in the meantime so we’re in a spoons having half a pint and a packet a crisps for our starter. I feel dirty 😭

It’s been a bit of a mixed work week, I must admit. Some highs, some all hands on deck moments, some hmmmmm moments and some urgh please, moments.

I was supposed to be going on a solo adventure today to the Weirdo’s book club live at Foyles but it’s been cancelled last minute due to illness. Felt proper deflated when I got the email today. But I’ve come home to this and it’s cheered me up. (It’s all about me clearly)
