This story isn‘t about ‘the world‘s taste for soya‘, it‘s about the world‘s taste for meat. The vast majority of soya is grown for animal feed. Less than 10% is for direct human consumption. A shame it‘s not mentioned in the story.

Of course you could also just ban school uniforms & stop the weirdness of dressing kids as worker drones. But a ban on plastic uniforms is a start.

New article by Nicola Thomas and me on Ulrike Draesner's epic poem "doggerland." It seems that literary writing about this particular landscape is not going to dry up any time soon 😆(geddit?). Nor is the scholarship on it.
