Every restoration project is more than an environmental effort. It’s an investment in the natural systems that businesses rely on.

Hoosier Dam Removal: Some restoration stories are best told with a before-and-after photo. Others are best told with proof.

January is when most goals get written down.

But conservation is built in what we protect, measure, and maintain long after the excitement fades.

In 2026, we are focused on durability.

Not short-term wins, but outcomes that hold up years from now.

Closing out 2025, we are reminded that conservation is not built in a moment. It is built through consistency, stewardship, and decisions that hold up over time.

Natural capital isn’t just an environmental concept. It’s an operating reality.

When land, water, wetlands, and forests are healthy, they quietly support reliable timelines, lower long-term risk, and stronger community trust.

As we close another year of protecting land, restoring rivers, and supporting resilient communities, we want to thank everyone who makes this work possible our partners, landowners, supporters, and friends.

Some gifts are enjoyed for a season. Others help shape what the next generation inherits.

What happens when a river can flow freely again?

The Hoosier Dam removal on the Rocky River is a reminder that restoration can be measured, not just described.

🚨 LAST CHANCE! 🚨

There are only a few hours left of #GivingTuesday, and we are just shy of our $3,000 goal.

This isn't just a number—it means over two acres of wetlands will be protected. Forever.

We can't get there without you. If you've been waiting, now is the moment.

The momentum is REAL! We are absolutely blown away by this community. 🤯 Thanks to you, we've already raised a significant amount toward our $3,000 Giving Tuesday goal!

That's a huge step toward protecting 2 acres of wetlands, but we're not there yet.

😍 IT'S ALMOST HERE!

Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday, and you can be a champion for our nation's wetlands. Our goal is to raise $3,000 to conserve and restore over two acres of these critical ecosystems.

For every $1,303 raised, we protect another acre.

🎉 It's almost here! This Tuesday is #GivingTuesday, the biggest day of generosity of the year. We have a goal: to raise $3,000 to fund the conservation and restoration of over 2 acres of vital wetlands. Every single dollar raised will go directly toward our stewardship fund to make this possible.

How do you make a restoration project last forever?

Our partners did incredible work at the Speedman Project in North Carolina. They took a former farm field and:
✅ Restored 3,500 feet of stream channels
✅ Removed old drainage ditches
✅ Replanted forests to protect wetlands

What’s the point of spending years and millions of dollars restoring a stream... only for it to be bulldozed for a subdivision a decade later? 🤔

When we think of "land conservation," we often picture pristine, untouched forests. But what about the lands we've already worked hard to heal?

What does it actually take to restore and protect a wetland forever? It takes a dedicated fund and a team of experts. Based on our track record, we know that for every $1,303 raised, we can fully restore and permanently conserve 1 acre.

🍺🎣 We know clean water is essential for life, but what about for your favorite local brewery or fishing spot?

👉 The connection is more direct than we think. Mandi Taylor explores how poor water quality can devastate local economies, threatening everything from property values to thousands of jobs.

This is where conservation meets community.

On the Deep River, the obsolete Ramseur Dam fragments habitat for vital species (like the Yellow Lampmussel) and blocks paddlers on the Deep River Blueway.
November 3, 2025 at 4:37 PM
It was a concrete problem.

For decades, the 235-foot-long Hoosier Dam blocked the Rocky River, choking off 253 miles of habitat from a 1,100-mile downstream network. This was devastating for aquatic populations, including the endangered Cape Fear Shiner. 🐟

The Slowplay property is truly something special with its rolling hills, valleys, grasslands & forested areas. For generations, its pond has been a go-to spot for catfish and an escape from summer heat. Seeing places where agriculture, nature & conservation efforts come together, is truly inspiring.

🦦 A family of beavers in the Czech Republic just saved the government $1.2 MILLION by building a series of dams that restored a vital wetland ecosystem.

We're talking improved water quality, a boost for local wildlife, and better flood prevention, all for the low, low price of... absolutely free!
