To the Right Honorable Simeon Brown Don't lecture us on ethical lines I'm confused about what you think we're crossing As doctor, these are a few of mine Ever heard of non-malificence? That's the one about doing no harm When we're all underpaid and understaffed It risks lives, so we raise the alarm The next one is autonomy Giving people the right to choose But we're struggling to provide all the options As you've gutted all the systems we use Third on the list is justice That's about fairness and equity Pretty much the opposite of your plans Of privatising whilst claiming "efficiency" And the final one is beneficence Taking action that's good for our patients Which includes striking and speaking the truth Whilst our health minister spouts nonsense So those are the principles we work to I often wonder what your ones might be What ethics you use to justify This gaslighting and disinformation spree

My goodness Mr Luxon What an interesting tagline to choose We're a country of rights and responsibilities? Let's take a minute to think about whose You're supposedly against breaking contracts A clever businessman, tough on crime What about that contract we signed in 1840? Or is that too far back in time? That one reaffirmed Indigenous rights And responsibilities went to the Crown How has your government been upholding those? Shall we take a quick look around Eroding trust, divisive bills Not caring about human rights Choosing ideology over science None of these moves are particularly bright So maybe consider rethinking This cute little tagline of yours Because it doesn't hold up to logic And does more to reveal your flaws

Public health doctors - who are trained to develop policy to make us all healthier - are being censored by a government who is more interested in making profits off sick people. The "nanny state" criticism is a deflection, what they're up to is far more concerning.

Our minister of health is trying to sell us the nonsense idea that our health system is failing because of too much regulation. Behind this is the plan to replace doctors with cheaper providers and erase essential cultural safety requirements from our health system.
