CAMPAIGN account: Wisconsin State Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Jill Underly, a Democrat, is running for re-election on April 1.
Now, more than ever, we must ensure libraries stay strong, accessible, and well-funded for future generations. Let’s honor our librarians not just with gratitude, but with action. The future of our libraries — and the Wisconsinites who rely on them — depends on us.

The time to act is now.

Brittany Kinser keeps claiming Jill Underly “lowered standards.”

But here’s the truth:
Wisconsin ranks 10th in the nation in cumulative NAEP scores—and 6th in the country in the latest U.S. News & World Report public education rankings.

That’s not failure. That’s results.

Trump’s cuts to local food programs are already hurting Wisconsin—schools, childcare centers, food banks, and farmers.

Brittany Kinser thinks “talking to Republicans” will fix it.

That’s not a plan. It’s naïve.

We need a fighter, not a bystander.

LETTER: Don't fall for this, voters. If Brittany Kinser has to use deceit to boost her chances of becoming the steward of statewide public education, she doesn't deserve the job.

I’m proposing a $60M investment in Career & Technical Education across Wisconsin. This means better equipment, stronger programs, and real opportunities for students to graduate ready for the workforce. It’s time to raise the bar—and invest in their future.
March 29, 2025 at 8:01 PM
Brittany Kinser wants to tie Wisconsin’s education system to a federal test that may not even exist next month.

It’s reckless, it’s out of touch, and it proves she’s more interested in political talking points than real education policy or a plan for the future.
March 29, 2025 at 4:05 AM
Small libraries across Wisconsin are already bracing for the pain from Trump cuts to federal funding — and Brittany Kinser still won’t even acknowledge the damage being done. These cuts threaten the very resources rural communities rely on.
March 27, 2025 at 3:13 PM
“When asked about a shutdown Kinser said that so long as Wisconsin continues to receive the federal education funding it currently receives, she is open to changes.

But other than the money for student loans it appears that all other funding to Wisconsin…will be lost.”
March 27, 2025 at 1:18 AM
Trump’s cuts to school meal programs are already hitting Wisconsin—and Brittany Kinser has said nothing.

She held a press conference today, and not one reporter asked about the devastating impacts these cuts are already having on students and schools.

Trump is cutting up to $1 billion from Wisconsin schools—and lobbyist Brittany Kinser’s response? “We will figure it out.”

That’s not a plan. That’s a shrug.

Our kids, our teachers, and our schools deserve better than excuses while our schools are being dealt devastating cuts.
March 24, 2025 at 3:38 AM
Lobbyist Brittany Kinser lobbied to drain public schools and give the money to private schools. Kinser also worked to remove teacher license requirements.
March 23, 2025 at 7:46 PM
LETTER: “The choice is stark. The next Wisconsin Superintendent of Public Instruction will be either a lifelong educator who worked at every level of education or a registered private voucher lobbyist who is funded by privateers.”
March 23, 2025 at 3:17 PM
Jill Underly is fighting back as Trump and his allies try to dismantle public education.

She’s leading with experience, defending $1B in federal support, and pushing for $4B in new funding—because every Wisconsin kid deserves a great public school.
March 22, 2025 at 8:03 PM
Lobbyist Brittany Kinser thinks she can “talk” her way out of Trump gutting $1 billion from Wisconsin schools.

Trump isn’t negotiating—he’s slashing special ed, school meals, and teacher training right now.

Kinser refuses to stand up to him.

Wisconsin needs a leader, not a lobbyist making excuses

These programs are working—and they’re worth fighting for. If we let this funding go away, we’re not going to be able to help kids. We’re talking about mental health supports, after-school tutoring, and reading intervention. This is about giving kids what they need to succeed.
March 21, 2025 at 2:20 AM
COLUMN: “State Superintendent Jill Underly believes in Wisconsin’s tradition of strong public schools and will continue to support public education and improved funding for small towns and cities everywhere.”
March 15, 2025 at 11:21 PM
LETTER: “Public money must have public accountability. I am voting for a superintendent who understands the value of public education, not someone interested in furthering the agenda of privatization.

I will vote for Jill Underly for state superintendent on April 1.”
March 15, 2025 at 10:22 PM
“Jill Underly…is backed by the Wisconsin teachers and the groups that advocate for them.

We’re with the teachers.

Underly has our endorsement.”
March 12, 2025 at 10:45 PM
The Trump admin is gutting the Dept of Ed, and WI schools will pay the price. Staff processing critical funding are being laid off, putting up to $1B at risk for special ed, school meals & teacher training.

This isn’t just politics—it’s an attack on our kids. I’m fighting back.

The Department of Education provides:

✅Academic services to first generation college students
✅Funding to schools with high rates of poverty
✅ Resources to students with special needs

The attacks on the DOE are a direct attack on our children’s futures.

The Trump administration just cut a vital program that helped Wisconsin farmers and provided fresh food to our students—a win-win for our communities. This funding won’t be replaced, and WI schools will suffer.

And lobbyist Brittany Kinser? She says “it’s fine.”
