The sky came down to touch my feet
Lake Michigan at sunset. The sun has already gone past the horizon, and the sky near horizon is ablaze in orange. Most of the sky is overcast is gray clouds which are lit below by the sun's red light. The water and the beach are both dark, but at their meeting when a wave pulls back into a thin sheet the sky's reflection shines bright in a gradient that ranges from orange to an almost magenta red

Went to the beach for the sunset and moonrise for the full moon
Looking out at frozen lake Michigan. The wooden staircase casts a complicated pattern of lines in sunset orange colored snow. Icebergs float in the water past a long sheet of ice that rests on the shallow shore. A set of footprints cuts through the snow leading down the sand dune. The sun is bright near the horizon on this day with no clouds and it's turning the snow sand color. Tall hills of ice cast shadow on the field of ice below. Standing on the snow covered beach there is no protection from the wind. A wood post with a life preserver stands in the snow and a forest grows on top of the dunes. We are now standing on the edge of where ice meets land, where in the summer waves break. The sun's pale orange light shines on these weathered chunks of ice.

Hypothetically if I wanted to create some fossilized footprints where would I go? Like a muddy lake next to a volcano? Some kinda weird desert?

I went for a hike through the snow the other day and it was a nice way to cool off
A fenced in field of snow with some benches and shelters is a dog park. The sky is overcast gray and in the distance is a dark band of forest. Standing on the forest's edge in winter. A steel cable for a bridge cuts diagonally across the picture. The trees are dark but their branches and trunks are covered in snow. The other side of the ravine is shown by white snow between gaps in the trees. Looking down the ravine from the side. Some of the smaller trees have orange dry leaves but all the rest are bare and a thick layer of snow covers everything. Still in the same place as last time but looking more downward, the ravines are very steep.

One of the dumbest teenage things I have done is when a group of about ten friends and I decided to swim out to the second sandbar, not the only dumb thing that could have got me drowned. I'm so much more careful now, I never fall off a bike and on my face anymore

There's magic in a sunset

There were dozens of skunk cabbage flowers out today!
A small red flower growing in brown leaves. The flower is one pointed leaf wrapped around itself like a seashell. Multiple curled red skunk cabbage flowers growing in the mud next to a mossy tree. They face different directions and some are more open or wrapped more tightly than others. Looking closer at two of the flowers the waxy red and yellow speckled leaf is wrapped around a pink ball at the center. A bunch of skunk cabbage flowers. You can see inside one and it has a white ball in the center.

Small waves on the beach at lake Michigan. The sky is filled with high clouds and sunlight shimmers off the water. The clouds fill the sky near the horizon with white, but higher up are patches of blue and there is a cloud with many parallel stripes. More sunlight glints off the waves with a small white bubbly breaking wave on shore.

I love winter but I hate ICE
An old farm and public park in late winter. The sky is bright with thin streaky clouds. There are patches of ice or maybe puddles in the empty field that are bright blue. The horizon is cut short by thick trees at the edge of the field.

I had a good time at the beach
A snow covered hill with dark trees and an orange bike rack in the corner. More snowy forest hills. A sign in a deep drift of snow says "no lifeguard on duty swim at your own risk" with safety information about rip currents and not feeding seagulls. Bare trees are a contrast to the white sky and snow covered ground. Snow carved by the wind has ridges and layers of sand making faint lines through the breaking snow.

I just finished the show Castle rock and it was pretty good! Both seasons had the same strengths and weaknesses. I was more interested in the character drama and interpersonal violence than the horror or supernatural so the set ups were better than the endings.

The snow has been going back and forth with all the rain we've been getting
A snow covered boardwalk through marshy forest. There is a lot of dry yellow grass and short bare trees. Snowy hills with many thin trees close together. A white lake with dark patches of water and the white overcast sky are visible in the gaps between the trees in this dense forest. A tree with lichen on its bark is the only green to be seen here in the forest.

Fire Skate with me
