Hey @museumjoe.bsky.social, remember this shot in "UHF" from Philo's office? You think that's a Spectragen? Did you ever notice one of the lines says "Q36 Explosive Space Modulator: £"?

NEWLY RESTORED AT @archive.org: This 1971 anti-drug filmstrip, produced by a Long Island not-for-profit, features Fisher-Price-esque sets and an ambulance with some strong opinions about aspirin.

Scanned and uploaded to @archive.org: This 1976 #filmstrip is missing its soundtrack, so it's unclear exactly what it is, but it seems to be about a Black girl and her family.

My last ask on #GivingTuesday. Every $5–$10 means another #filmstrip safeguarded at @archive.org. Legends like you can keep these from becoming #lostmedia.

Real talk: Filmstrips don’t get boutique re-issues. Once they disintegrate, that’s it. Same preservation energy as VHS and vinyl heroes, just a format everyone's forgotten. Help me keep the scanner running?

Mark does some AMAZING work preserving filmstrips, alongside VHS tapes and other kinds of media.

Please consider donating to his efforts to help archive and preserve this volatile media format... he's the only one in the world doing it! 🎞️

It’s #GivingTuesday.

While VHS & vinyl get the love, 20th century #filmstrips are quietly turning to dust. I’m the guy scanning them before they vanish. Every finished film gets permanently safeguarded at @archive.org.
