it's a shame that there is no space for truly niche and experimental films anymore since all works to be designed around profitability from inception amidst steep costs. I doubt tastes have shifted, hence nationwide theater specials for these type of films (perfect blue, vhd, angel's egg, etc).

Video games should be allowed to fail. Video games should be allowed to do just okay. Video games should be allowed to not be instant hits but still find a core audience. And video game developers should not have to get laid off and start over every time they don’t make the next massive hit.

No One Lives Under The Lighthouse returned me to the HL1 mod glory days. pretty fun to stream to a group though I think it started off stronger than where it ended up. ambitious segments kinda tripped up the pace but overall a novel experience and I am generally a fan of non-linear storytelling.

Rental is like playing through someone's fully-realized Animal Crossing horror village concept. short and sweet, its quirky humor and lo-fi art left me in a nostalgic haze. game was free so I bought the zine, which was a digital copy of a physical scan, which was neat.
