Here’s what I’ll say.
On July 22nd, 1861, things looked bad. The Union just lost the first major battle and the Reba had the initiative.
But one year later, the Union started to come back with New Orleans.
A year after, we won Gettysburg and Vicksburg.
Two more, and we were marching to Richmond.

It’s slightly unfair to McClellan because at least the “Little Napoleon” was good at equipping and training the Army of the Potomac.
I really do like the analogy because the grunts in the army of the Potomac from 1861-1863 had to grind it out under incompetent leadership until the union found Grant, and that kinda feels like what’s going on with the dem party rn…
