Samantha Hunt, one of my colleagues at Bennington College, said earlier this semester: “One of the most radical things I do is move slowly.”

I think about it all the time. Slow, steady, determined.

Tufts University petitions a federal judge to release student Rümeysa Öztürk, who was grabbed off the street by immigration officials.

The move is some of the strongest public pushback by a school against the Trump administration's arrests of foreign students.

My poem, "In Defense of Brother John (1971)" is in the Poet Lore Ekphrastic Folio, curated by jason b. crawford. When the film first came out, it received negative reviews. But the film itself feels like a lyric poem and is a cool blend Blaxploitation and Southern Gothic.

It is also important to me to share this artist statement I submitted to the NEA, since they didn’t have a chance to add the statements to the fellows pages yet. I hope all of us are finding ways to survive our “now.” I hope what haunts us can one day humor us.

The Elizabeth Catlett show at the Brooklyn Museum is a MUST SEE—this Black revolutionary woman artist was badass, aesthetically and politically. My favorite moment: when she remade a print honoring the founders of the Black Panthers after she discovered Eldridge Cleaver’s misogynist attitudes. Oop.

I refuse to believe this many millennials did not know Travis Porter was a group. Or, flat out denying any knowledge of Travis Porter. No revisionist history around here.

I know Nikki Giovanni was 81 and lived a full life.

Both Texas and Georgia are destroying evidence of all maternal mortality, blocking proof that women are dying from abortion bans.

This story has a lot more going on than you think. Especially since Republicans are lying about the public cases.

Republicans don't care if women die from abortion bans — but they don't want you to know about it
